One Hour Craft-I love the satisfaction of a quick project & this site is full of them!
re:knit - basically a site that re-blogs knitting content from other site..I love the one stop shopping. Its also fun to visit the linked blogs.
Blah, Blah Blahhhg - Is it any wonder I like this blog? She knits lots of toys & unusual things like I do.
Stitchy McYarnpants Museum of Kitschy Stitches - With the lost of You Knit What! I need something new to make me laugh aloud at my desk. Her new book came out today as well.
Last night was Knit Flicks & we all knit & cried to Sense and sensibility (oh, c'mon admit it you cried too when Emma Thompson starts sobbing when she finds out Hugh Grant isn't married). Since the intarsia blanket is not a traveling project I whipped up this Mary Jane slipper out of Creative Focus.
We are getting ready to do a series of Sunday afternoons at the store were we focus on quick gifts for the holidays. I've been messing around with this slipper for gauge & to be able to write it for sizes Sm-Xl. This one is a Med & I'm a large so its a little stretched. Best thing is I did it in less than 2 hours & I think it is super cute. I was thinking since its in stockinette some duplicate stitch pattern on the front might be cute too. It also needs a button. I did this in Nashua Creative Focus Chunky but plan on writing the pattern for Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Chunky As the creative focus can't really be washed easily without felting. Can't wait to start on some of the other quick knit gift project we have planned. Stay tuned....
The Mary Jane Slipper is totally cute!
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'm a heartless teenager, but I was definitely laughing when Emma Thompson was crying over Hugh Grant and his not married status.
ReplyDeleteSense & Sensibility is my all-time FAVORITE movie! Yes, I cried - how could you not?? With that overwrought Emma to his puppydog-eyed Hugh?
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your slippers!!!
