First of all a sweet little package arrived addressed to me at Noe Knit. Who was if from by
Erica. I had admired a scarf she had made on her blog & she sent me a ball of the yarn that she had left. There was a lot of ohhing & ahhing at the store, wonder what yarn it is. The pink is such a sweet color (even though it looks a little purple in this picture). I think it will become a lacy scarf for me! Thanks Erica, unexpected package always make my day!

Then last night my friend Jan showed up with this...

Her friend Jill had caught the bouquet at my wedding. Jan pressed the flowers & created this beautiful piece. It was such a surprise & I love it. I was having a hard time coming up with a good way to remember the flowers other than just drying them. Its such a special piece to me because its from the wedding, Susi did the flowers & now Jan has preserved them.
That was so of Erica,(Thats why I love these blogs, the ladies are soooooo sweet)
ReplyDeleteAnd the idea for the flowers is wonderful, This looks so pretty. And a it is a great way to remember such a special day. :)
Now that I'm back among the living I thought I'd check out what you've been up to! Your prezzie yarn looks interesting! Have fun making a scarf from it!
ReplyDeleteSounds like your store windows are keeping you pretty busy~wouldn't want you to run out of things to do this month! lol~~
I really need to sew more~I get so lazy~maybe in the new year!
That is beautiful! what a great idea. I have always wanted a flower press~
ReplyDeleteOoh, ooh! So WHAT of me, Roseygirl? ;->
ReplyDeleteKat, I love the wedding flowers. That's a cool idea. I carried calla lilies in my wedding, so they didn't lend themselves well to saving. Oh, well.
BTW, that pink scarf was one of only two that sold at the school holiday boutique on Saturday...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Both...and what a special remembrance of your very special day! A great idea...
