Challenge: Create an outfit using one of the concepts & one of the textiles that are on trend for Fall 2010 (We were given a list to chose from).
Time: You have 15 hours to create your project
The concept I chose was military & the textile was metallics. I think of this outfit as glam joins the army.
The skirt is slightly a-line with a flat panel inserted into the front & darts in the back for shaping. The flat panel is then accented with antique gold buttons. The silky antique gold top is a sexy one shoulder number that crosses over in the back (I particularly like the way the top drapes in the front). A handknit chunky scarf & knee high brown suede boots accessorize the outfit.
Make sure to check out Susi's 50's & lace inspired look, she really did some glam!
Handmade 365 2010- My goal is to spend time everyday working on something handmade for a year & photograph it.

Lovely, I wonder if any of the full size one's came up with anything so glam.
ReplyDeleteAaah, I LOVE it! Especially the draping, like you said--gorgeous! You put Team Luxe to shame, Kathy. ;)
ReplyDeleteI've been following these fun challenges for a while now, and this might be my favorite yet! You always do a wonderful job, and I'm impressed by how sharp everything looks, despite the tiny sizes!
ReplyDeleteToo bad you don't have any nieces to make doll clothes for. None of the boys would appreciate these. Amazing.

Wonderful! Can we forward these posts to Tim Gunn? I think he'd appreciate them.
ReplyDeleteI'd wear this look right off the runway (if I were doll sized). I love your metallic military look!
ReplyDeleteThat is one fabulous look Kat. You did such a great job! My kids need you nearby to be their Barbie designer.
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous and would be FABULOUS for a life-sized person.
