Day 29 of NaBloPoMo & I take to stealing this meme from Knitnana.
1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Hot Chocolate especially the Land O Lake flavored kind if I can find it.
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just set them under the tree? As children Santa wrapped some & left some open. We also strangely enough received gifts from people like Sting.
3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? White - Currently all white.
4. Do you hang mistletoe? We couldn't find any last year. Didn't even look this year.
5. When do you put up your decorations? Thanksgiving weekend or the following one.
6. What is your favorite holiday dish? Breakfast casserole on Christmas morning with Sara Lee coffee cake on the side.
7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child? Werid I don't have that many specific memories. Though I think my favorite thing has always been the lights. I especially remember loving the way the "candles" we put in all the house windows looked at night & wanting to sleep with them on.
8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? No, idea.
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? As kids we got to open one gift Christmas Eve, we don't do that anymore.
10. What kind of decorations are on your Christmas Tree? A whole mismash. We had a party last year & had our friends each bring us one, we bought red & silver balls but we also have Hello Kitty, a pink vespa, hand knit Dr. Suess looking ones, Rudolph animated characters, Winnie the Pooh, kitchen utensils & lots more. When we go on trips now the souvenir we bring back is a Christmas ornament so we have things like a gold grape leaf from Sonoma & a frame ornament from Yosemite.
11. Snow! Love it or Dread? I do like it & miss it being in California. Though I get tired of it by February.
12. Can you ice skate? Yes, but I haven't in awhile. I took lots of lessons as a kid & I think was on one show. I do own skates & would love to go to the rink in downtown SF.
13. Do you remember your favorite gift? Either my Cindy doll I got when I was very young or crosscountry skies in my teens. Now its probably the sewing machine my parents got me.
14. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you? I love the whole warm feeling of holiday parties with friends & going home to see family.
15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? My mom's apricot turnover cookies.
16 What is your favorite holiday tradition? Filling each others stockings before bed. I also like going to the children's mass on Christmas Eve.
17. What tops your tree? A very cheap white plastic star with white lights. It looks like its covered with strands of hot glue.
18. What is your favorite holiday book? "A Little Princess" not why, it just reminds me of Christmas
19. What is your favorite Christmas Song? Oh I don't think I can pick...The Thorns do a beautiful version of "silent Night"
20. Candy Canes! Yuck or Yummy? I can take them or leave them
