Iron Craft Challenge #17 - A Dress for Kate

One of the biggest speculations around the big wedding this week is what will Kate's, oh excuse me, Catherine's dress look like. A bunch of former Project Runway designers were asked to design the dress we'd like to see her in...ok, ok, I wasn't asked (maybe my email was lost) but, I felt like we designers at Project Project Runway should put our two cents in too. So, I proudly present to you Chloé wearing my idea for The Dress.

Yeah, no two dimensional drawings at Project Project Runway! I don't see Kate in a big puffy princess dress so, my dress for her is elegant and simple. A bodice completely beaded with opalescent white beads adds enough bling to make it something really special. The dress is accented with a silvery ribbon around the waist & hem.

Of course there is a tiara to match the beading and a bouquet of delicate (real!) flowers. I had way too much fun doing my little bridal photo shoot.

In reality, the dress is made from an old white t-shirt. I used tacky glue to attach the beads to the bodice and the ribbon the the hem. The veil is made from a piece of tulle. I gathered one end and sewed it together to form a circle. Beads were glued to it to make the tiara. The flowers are from my bulb garden.
