& we still haven't had the pie

started the day with cinnamon rolls & the macy's parade.
cinnamon rolls
when you aren't expecting guests or going anywhere you can stay in your pajamas until noon. then a long walk to enjoy the bright sunny day.
huge puzzle
a busy afternoon working on a giant 3D puzzle of san francisco.
turkey
matt's amazing herbed turkey breast, with rosemary & thyme under the skin & sage on the outside.
dressing & potatoes
my traditional stuffing & matt's grandma's potatoes (that is cheese baked on top & they were yummy!)
back to the puzzle so i can work up an appetite for pie.

  1. I have such fond memories of watching the Macy's parade every year, but the Things just aren't interested!

Stuffing is crucial for me, too, though I've departed from my mom's way and add apples, raisins, walnuts, and sometimes sausage (in addition to celery and onions).

Our first married Thanksgiving was on our honeymoon. We were staying in a vacation rental in Bodega Bay, so we bought a cherry pie and buffalo wings and cooked a turkey breast, StoveTop (which I ruined!), and Potato Buds. I wrote thank you notes while we watched football all day. Hubby was thrilled!
