Challenge: Create a fashionable look from a bridesmaids dress. You may use a small amount of other fabric though the bulk of the new outfit should be from the original dress.
Time: You have 15 hours to complete your outfit.
On the show the designers were given actual bridesmaids dresses to redo. Since ChloƩ doesn't have any old bridesmaids dresses hanging in her closet, I found a doll dress that seemed like a pretty good stand in. Shiny stiff fabric? Check. Bow? Check. Bad bridal color? Check. And for an added bonus, tulle!
I turned this piece of blue fluff into a sleek, sexy, color blocked dress. The back & sides of the dress are made from the skirt of the original. I added a strip of chocolate brown fabric to tone down the blue & because, I think the combination of blue & brown look very modern together. A halter strap is made from the twisted tulle of the original dress. Chunky brown wedges with a bit of texture to them & a wrap bracelet, both from the Piperlime accessory wall, complete the look.
